Qaidam desert is one of the eight deserts in China. It is located in the Qaidam Basin in the northwest of Qinghai. It is the highest desert in the world.

The desert area is about 34900 square kilometers, accounting for about 1 / 3 of the total area of Qaidam Basin. Sand dunes, Gobi, salt lakes and saline soil plains are staggered, and the terrain is extremely complex, which puts forward high requirements for the power and cross-country of the chariot.
